Then it was on to Hollywood Studios for the day. We were all looking forward to this park. Why? Well, there's only one thing that can make this 6 1/2 year old crane his neck...

And this!
The boys LOVED the Star Wars stuff!!!
More autographs...
About two months ago we started dialing up the movie viewing around here. I wanted the boys to recognize characters and truly appreciate all the Disney stuff they would see on this trip. One of the movies we rented was Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. I remembered this playground and I knew they would love it more if they had seen the movie. Sure enough! One look and they took off!
For dinner we found a restaurant in Downtown Disney. It was Tia K's birthday. She didn't have a preference so we ended up here:
Not quite princesses and fairies but I think she enjoyed it. :) We ended up in the most popular room, it looked like a huge ice cave and had very different lighting. This picture is unedited, straight out of the camera. Imagine eating with this lighting along with the occasional red light. Yeah, J wasn't a big fan. I ended up having to leave a little early with him, poor guy was quite overwhelmed. :(
As the meal went on, not only was A not eating, he looked droopy. We got back to the room and he was pretty hot, again. Yup, fever. I knew at this point what was going on and we needed an antibiotic to kick the infection that was developing. I called the nurse line back home to see what they could do for us. Nothing. We were too far away, but recommended a humidifier and going into an Urgent Care Clinic. Great. Thanks.
Since A hadn't eaten dinner he was pretty hungry and asked for ice cream. Fine, if that's what it would take for him to eat something. He ate an ice cream sandwich but as time went on he looked more and more droopy. The fever was climbing. At 10:30 M hopped in a cab with A and off they went to a clinic just outside of the Disney grounds.
I am usually the one that takes the boys to their doctor's appointments so I made sure to give him all of A's background information, current meds and usual form of treatment...while I waited on pins and needles back at the hotel.
M said they arrived and once they took A's vitals they were bumped to the front of the line because his fever had reached 103.7. The first order of business, bring his fever down. Well, the nurse tried to give him cherry Tylenol. He said he wanted grape (what I usually give him). She didn't have grape, he didn't want cherry, he got upset, refused to take it, she tried again and he threw up his ice cream sandwich all over himself and on her. Awesome. M said, "Well, I guess we should believe him when he says he doesn't want cherry." She was not amused.
Now we had a sick kid who had gotten sick all over himself. M was able to talk the nurse into giving him a scrub shirt to change A into otherwise he was going to be without apparel. The doctor came in and pretty much just gave them the prescription we needed. It was midnight at this point so I'm hoping he was just tired and is usually more thorough.
When M walked out the lights were turned off and the door was locked. There he stood with A in the stroller, still with a high fever because he didn't want the cherry Tylenol and no cab yet. A family that had been in the clinic too was leaving at the same time. The mom walked up to M and asked where they were staying. He told her Bay Lakes and she said they were staying there too. She offered to give them a ride...in their brand new, no license plate yet, black Escalade. M told her no thanks but she said, "I'm not taking No for an answer". He said, "Well, do you mind if I see your room key." (So smart!!!) Her husband piped up and said, "Honey, you are coming off a little creepy." HA! She produced her room key and they hoped in with these total strangers sent by God. Thank goodness A didn't throw up in their car!! We'll never know who they were but I am so thankful to them for taking care of my boys. I know someday we'll have the chance to pay it forward.
Here it was, 1:00 and they walked in the door...smelling of vomit. (Poor brand new Escalade.) After showers, I gave A some Tylenol. Cherry. I very timidly said, "A, this is all I have", then I held my breath. He said, "O.k.", and popped them in his mouth. :) Poor nurse, guess she wore him down for me.
By 1:30 we were all in bed, praying A would feel better the next day...

I must say you have got me wondering if A was okay. I hope he was able to enjoy the rest of you trip!
