First Day of Snow!!!

This morning the boys woke up ready to go! I'm not sure how because we didn't get to bed until after 11 here. Z could hardly wait to get down and play in the "toe" as A calls it.

We tried to set expectations ahead of time. Our first priority was not to be caught without food again. So we needed to drive into town and get food from the Safeway.

Here we go. Our first adventure out in the snow. We layered up and even though the heated parking garage did not require us to walk outside, we did anyway. Good idea? Not really. The boys could not resist playing it and it was so hard to tell them not to get snow on them. Yeah right. They were thrilled!! Even more amazed at how cold it is when it touches your skin (face). That was not impressive to them.

We stayed out only a few minutes and it made us all excited to play later.

After a much needed nap by all, we suited up to play for real. We walked out the doors of our condo and they were off!

Z was the first to dive in. You can't see his face in this picture but you can see his cheeks and know they are smiling.

A was a little more careful, as usual. He had is share of fun but just wanted to check it out first. I will say it was a teeny bit more hazardous for him - his legs aren't as long as everyone else's. :)

His caution didn't last long. He was the first to attempt a snow angel. :) (Notice the blurred boots in the background? Z was psyched!)

Then A could hardly contain his excitement. :)

After quite some time of playing in the same area, we reminded them that the whole place had snow. We made it over to the ski lifts to show them what skiing is all about. They were quite impressed.

Later in the afternoon we did make it to the Fraser Tubing Hill. It was so late in the day that we had the place all to ourselves! We got some great footage that I'll upload later.
By the time we finished tubing we were starving! These icicles were hanging off the side of the restaurant.
