"Mama, what's this?"

We all know they're coming...embarrassing parent moments. You know in your heart that there will be time when you want to crawl in a hole. Instead of letting them get to you, you tell yourself you'll be ready. You'll handle it calmly and with dignity. YEAH RIGHT!!

Matt is starting to feel a little stir crazy in the house with work and school so we went out to eat at Chili's tonight. The conversation is going along just fine. Both boys are occupied, Z with his crayons, A with the coasters. I hear a little voice next to me say, "Mama, what's this?" I turn and find Z holding a white stick two inches from my face. I move my head back, think it looks slightly familiar...where have I seen that before? It clicks. My eyes bug out of my head, I snatch it from his little grip and hiss, "What are you doing in my purse?" Yup, my son had been rummaging in my purse and the only thing he could wave around like the checkered flag at the Indy 500 was a tampon! I was about 78.4 million shades of red for the way I reacted only to look up and find Matt about to fall on the floor because he was laughing so hard. Being a parent is so rewarding...
