Alright, K. This post is so you will stop buggin' me...
Over spring break my sister had planned to some spend a few days with us. Just as they were walking out the door to drive to our house I called to tell her Z had a fever. There were tears shed in both cities and we agreed to wait until the following day. Well, the fever was still hanging around on day 2. I had the brilliant idea to drive down with the other two and leave Z here with M. (That plan only worked since we told Z he could have a video game fest with M.)
That evening I drove to the outlet mall and met my sister and the girls half way for a little shopping. Two hours into our shopping we ate dinner and tried to get a few more minutes in before the stores closed. A said he had to go potty and on our way across the parking lot he says, I feel like I'm going to be sick. Mom of the Year said, "You're fine, let's just get to the potty." Not two steps later he puked. Then he puked a trail so we wouldn't get his shoes dirty. Needless to say, spring break plans were a bust.
Well my sister and I will not be deterred! Easter weekend all the kids had Good Friday off so we tried to get together again. This time it worked!! Friday we spent the day on a Texas Tour! Promptly at 9 am we loaded all the kids in the vans and drove to...
We always try to go to the farm around Halloween for their pumpkins but this time it was all about the strawberries.
The kids paired up, each with a box and went to town!
That is until the wee man took over a box and ventured off on his own...
It was a cool morning but some of us were freezing. Look at my cute sista...
Well every party has a pooper and this party had Uncle Joe. He did not see the fun in driving to pick strawberries but I think it's safe to say he had the most fun out of all the adults. Please examine evidence #1: Two handfuls of strawberries...
Z was in heaven as he gathered the perfect ripe strawberries. He remembered picking them in California when we were there three years ago.
Everyone was cooperative. Well, unless you tried to take the box from J. Then he was not having it at all.
Please examine evidence #2: The pooper has disappeared and is picking his third batch of double handfuls.
Oh little J...I don't want to take them from you. I just want a picture of your precious hands holding on to the box for dear life.
And now that I have my picture...he's off!
Check out the strawberry, um...strawberries, no...strawberry that T found!
Aren't they so cute!?
Did I mention it was chilly and windy? The wind made it chilly.
And it just wouldn't be fun if we didn't make a game out of some part of the day. Yes, the adults are trying to get their strawberry in the box that Z is holding for them.
After we'd gathered a few pounds of strawberries we found the treats...homemade strawberry ice cream, homemade strawberry popsicles and strawberry smoothies.
A was the only one to get the ice cream and I must admit it was a wise move. He didn't have anything dripping down his hand when he was done.
T did OK and was pretty efficient.
Z was fine too...
K was fine...
A had a little on his mouth but still very clean.
Tia K had some issue but for the most part we'll call her clean.
Now J. Oh J...
Oh, friend....
Yes. It's on his shirt. On his pants. On his face. And alllll over his hands. He wins messiest popsicle eater.
Oh. My. Goodness!
And our family pic. Yay for picking strawberries! Thank goodness M is holding messy J!
Stay tuned...the Texas Tour is just getting started!
