I'm THAT Mom!

You know which one I'm talking about. The one that you look at with judgemental eyes. In your mind you're thinking, "Why in the world is she letting her child do that?!" Then you say to yourself, "I'll never let my child do that." It doesn't matter what it is...all you know is that you won't let yours do "that".

What did I let my child do? Well, let me just set the stage a bit. Monday morning, the big boys are at school, I have J and need to get the grocery shopping done. Already J has been a bit opinionated about his likes and dislikes so by the time we get to the grocery store I know it's gonna be a rough one. No problem. I'll grab a balloon and let him play with it while I shop. Well. No balloons that day. Great.

So, by the time I've made it through the first four items on my list J is having nothing to do with the grocery store. Everything I've handed him has landed on the floor. I'm working fast and wondering how many people in the store can hear us when something in the basket catches his eye. He points, grunts, screams and makes a grab for it. It's a box of Nilla wafers. Yup. I did it. I opened it and let him go to town. I was that mom...
