A Buggy Year

Wednesday our little A started another year of preschool. Hard to believe that this time next year he'll be going to kinder...but let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet!!

A is a little harder to read when it comes to school. He's all big and bad when we're at home...excited and animated. Sometimes that little attitude changes when we actually get to school. So that morning I tried not to make a super big deal about the day, but just enough to let him know I was excited for him too.

Again, we used the special red plate. :)

Then we got all dressed and lookin' spiffy before snapping a few (very few) pictures outside. He was a little bummed because the school provided a bag for each student this year, so he could only pick out a new water bottle and lunch box. I have to admit...the bag is kinda nice and very easy to use.

Once we walked into the classroom I felt that little attitude shift. He looked at me and said, "Mommy, do you think I need to go home early today?" I assured him he would be just fine and that he didn't need to leave before lunch. I eased him into the classroom and quickly slipped out the door.
When I picked him up he had the biggest grin on his face. He had a great day and at that point I knew it was okay to get a picture of him with his new Bug teacher, Mrs. S.
*As a side note, when we first met Mrs. S I knew she looked familiar but thought it was just from seeing her in the hallways. Well, I was right, I've seen her in the hallways...but not at the preschool. She taught at the same elementary school I taught at waaaaay back in the day. She was 4th grade while I was 2nd, but just to know that we've taught together was a really fun connection.
