Happy Fourth of July!!

Friday afternoon we had some visitors arrive. Uncle Jakob, Aunt Angie, Christopher and Madison joined us for a fun-filled weekend of 4th of July activities. They had not been to see us since we first moved into our house years ago so it was a nice treat.

Saturday morning Oma arrived bright and early...in time to make it for breakfast before the parade. She brought decorations for the truck so when everyone was fed we had some business to attend to. Here are the big boys ready to drive to the parade.

We ended up waiting a while for the parade to start. Turns out we needed the fire truck to lead us down the street! The parade started at our mailboxes and ended at the pool. The boys were thrilled! I was shocked the truck made it down there and back without the battery giving out.

When we got to the pool there were crafts, an inflatable bouncer, the fire truck hung around, clowns and lots of kids. It was great fun!

After a trip to the pool, naps for our boys and showers we went back out in the heat for the fireworks. We arrived at the park around 7:30 to stake out our spot. We've actually never been to the fireworks in town. We're always out-of-town! :) Considering we had to wait over an hour the boys did great! There was so much to look at and music to listen to while we waited.

Hey look! It's me!! I made it into a picture!! :)

It also helped that we had a little Uncle Jakob entertainment. :)

Here they are after a very busy day...all waiting patiently for the fireworks.

So we had a fun weekend with the family. It doesn't get much better than food, family and fireworks!!
