Day 3 - Mission Beach

Did I mention that the weather in California is bea-u-ti-ful!?!? Wow. Today we spent some time out in the sun. We moved hotels to spend a few nights in San Diego. I was so sad to leave our nice quiet room and go into the Gas Lamp District, but oh well.

So we dropped our luggage off and went to meet some friends. The M's are out in CA for 8 weeks. He works for Apple and spends many weeks out there anyway, so the family packed up to be with him. How great is that?! So we met them at Trader Joe's...a cute little organicish grocery store. The kids had no idea we were meeting up, just in case things didn't work out. We walked in and I thought my boys were going to wet their pants from excitement! They were thrilled to see their friends.

So we grabbed some lunch and made our way to Mission Beach. We were not the only ones with that idea - the beach was CROWDED!! I was nervous the boys were going to wander off just from getting turned around in the crowd. We kept a close eye on all 4 kiddos and they had a blast. We were out there for 3 hours but they easily could have gone another 3.

Here are the guys keeping a close eye on our babies.

A and his good buddy, B. They are 4 months apart and get along famously. Two sweet boys.

The waves were pretty strong out there! Poor B got knocked off his feet and his shirt was drenched. The breeze was a little cool so shirtless was actually warmer for him.

And the big kids, Z and his friend E. They were working hard on something. Z loved the cool water and after a while E was brave enough to join him.

And where am I? Well, behind the camera as usual. But if you had seen a picture of me I would have been the only one on the beach wearing long sleeves. Seriously. It was cold out there!! :)
