The big arrival

Today was our first day in California. I have to start by saying the weather is BEA-UTI-FUL!! Oh my gosh, it's so great to have a break from the heat.

This morning we got up early to catch our flight. The boys were pumped! We got them dressed and were out the door all before 7:15. After a little breakfast at the airport we were on our way. Both did wonderfully on the plane. They were content with their little backpacks 'o goodies.

After we landed and got into our rental car we made our way up to Carlsbad, about 30 minutes north of San Diego. M fell in love with the city and is ready to put our house on the market. :) I have to say, if you ever visit Carlsbad, stay at the West Inn and Suites. We needed the extra space so M and I didn't have to turn the lights out at 7 also so we got a suite. The place was so clean and quiet. We loved it!

After dropping off our bags we drove the 5 minutes to check out Legoland. Literally, it was right across the highway! Since that didn't take so long we stopped at the field we passed along the way to pick STRAWBERRIES!! What a great treat that was! The field was literally as far as the eye could see...rows and rows of strawberry plants! WOW!

I've been wanting to take the boys out to Sweet Berry Farms but we just haven't made it out there so to find this patch, I was in heaven!! Both boys were totally into picking their strawberries, they even liked the slightly green ones. :) So we filled our $6 bucket and chowed on them after dinner. :)
