My dad...The Man!

Sunday afternoon my parents arrived to spend the night with us. It wasn't just any 'ol visit. Monday morning my dad participated in the CapTexTri. A full Olympic length triathlon.

The morning of the race M and my dad took off around 5:15. I got up and packed our breakfast to hit the road at 6:30. We arrived right as the anthem was starting and made it to our first spot in time to see my dad on his ONE MILE swim...in Town Lake. Yikes! I'm not so sure about that business. What happens if you need a break?! It's not like you can touch the bottom. Out of all the places to stand on the bridge we picked the perfect spot, don't you think?

After the little swim, he was off to bike a few miles. Well, 25 to be exact. Hmmm...not sure why this appeals to some people but whatever. So there we stood on the bridge, watching him make his 4 laps.
As if that wasn't enough, then he was off to run 6.2 miles. Seriously?! I did that in March and it was not easy.

He did it!! In 3 hours, 1 minute and something seconds. :) I am so proud of him! He was exhausted (who wouldn't be) but thrilled. He's THE MAN!!! :)
