The summer is flying by! Our days our limited, yet booked. This week the boys started tennis camp. I must admit that when I signed them up for the camp I had no idea how they'd take to tennis. But, in carrying on with our quest to let them try every sport we signed up. Well. Maybe I was a tad bit more interested in keeping them busy over the summer...but we hadn't tried tennis yet! Honest!
So we went into our first day of camp with zero expectations. Heck! I don't even know much about it so how was I supposed to pump them up?! "You hit the ball with your racquet. There's lines and scoring with love, then 15, I don't know." Great motivator, huh? Whatever, that's what the teachers are for. :)
First rule of tennis. The racquet is not a bat. (I knew that one!)
Well shoot! After that little bat vs. racquet lesson Z was off! He still likes to try to hit it as far as possible, many times resulting in swinging at the air, but you gotta admire his enthusiasm.
And A? Well, the kid has great hand eye coordination. He connects with the ball 90% of the time. He's got other "issues". It's hot outside. Mommy can fix a lot of things, but the heat is not one of them. He'd love tennis if he could play in the shade or indoors. I think he's more of a racquetball kinda guy.
And J? He's cool with the whole thing...
