Tonight was the acrobatics performance that I had been waiting for and it was everything I imagined it would be! I was disappointed that I couldn't take pictures - big bummer. These people train so hard to be able to do what I saw tonight. 12 girls on one bike, flipping each other around and balancing on boards with a roller underneath. CRAZY! The contortionists make my stomach flip but it's all so mesmerizing.
Our bus did a little negotiating tonight. The entire group has been split up into 3 buses because there are so many of us. We convinced the tour guides and the bus drivers to take two buses back to the hotel and one bus to a karaoke bar. M and I were on the bar bus and almost every seat was filled. 40 Americans in a Chinese karaoke bar!! We were very subtle about it. The bar had side rooms that you rent and we were able to get everyone into one room with drinks and food for the duration of your time there. The beer was flowing although the food was not so hot.
We all found it hilarious to hear about one group of people that went to dinner before joining us. Apparently when they got to the bar there was a slight language barrier. They walked in and went to the front desk and said, "We're with the big group." Blank stares. So Charles, the class comedian decided it would help to use his hands. So he said it more loudly and slowly while making a circle with his hands, "The BBBBIIIIIGGGG GGGRRROOUUPPPP." Still more stares. He said they started talking in Chinese and were probably saying, "Look at the man trying to communicate". *chuckle, chuckle* A few minutes later after repeating himself a few times, they made it up to our room on the third floor. :)
M and I did sing - Livin' La Vida Loca and Meghan pulled me up on the stage to sing "Bye, Bye, Bye" with her. As the night went on and the alcohol flowed, our room turned into a dance club. It was such a blast! Pictures to come when I have more time...
