My Husband, My Hero

Sunday was the big day and he did it!! Matt ran the AT&T Marathon!!! :) I am so proud of him - I knew he could do it.

Saturday my parents drove up to be with us. (My dad actually ran the Motorola Marathon in 2004, so he knew what Matt was going through.) Saturday night we had the big pasta meal: lasagna, salad, bread and ice cream. It was yummy if I do say so myself.

Sunday morning my dad and Matt were out the door by 5:30 a.m. With 13,000 participants between the half and full marathon, they had to get out the door early. It started at 7 a.m. My mom and I woke up, and got everyone ready to head down there. We picked up my dad at 9:00 and drove to the north end of the race route. I ran miles 18 - 20 with Matt and then my dad ran in with him the remaining 6 miles. During all of the car time and transitioning, the boys did great!

Matt rounded the corner of Congress and 11th just before noon. I was so proud of him. Months of running to keep the stress at bay had turned into training for this very day.

He is my husband and my hero...
Here are a few statistics from M:
622.36 - Miles logged in my Nike Plus system
145 - Runs to train for the race
33 - Pounds lost
6 - Inches off my waist
