After a rocky weekend, we made it to the beach on Monday afternoon.
Highlights from the week:
1 - Number of water spouts we saw over the ocean. A little eerie, yet mesmerizing all at the same time.
2 - Number of live creatures we found while playing on the beach this year. Uncle Mike found a seahorse and Tia Kim was attacked by a frog.
3 - Number of years it's taken Kim and I to figure out that we need to take chick flicks to the beach so the boys don't play Xbox every night.
4 - Number of kids that actually enjoyed playing at the beach this year.
5 - Number of times waves came and hit Z before he was finished peeing in the ocean.
6 - Number of second cousins that played together. On Wednesday my uncle and aunt drove down with my cousin, Michelle, and her family. Michelle, Steve, Alejandra (7 yrs.) and Esteban (4 yrs.) live in Germany. This past February Michelle returned to Germany after spending a year in Afghanistan.
16 - Number of people that went out looking for ghost crabs. We'd never done this before and with our large group I'm sure they could hear us coming a mile away, but it was still fun. Leave it to Michelle to catch them with her hands! I prefer the bucket method - but whatever. ;) Z was a little nervous when we caught the big one that jumped out of the wagon. I wonder why?!
A LOT - Number of seagulls we fed on Friday morning. Kim and I conducted an experiment. Will seagulls eat bread off your head? See the pictures to find out...
? - Number of Jell-O shots my dad will have in the future. Ever seen someone scoop the jell-o out of the pan, put it in a bowl, then sit down and eat it with a spoon?
40 - Approximate number of weeks before we go to the beach as a family again. Mainly because it might take that long for all of us to recuperate...

I am so glad you got to go on your beach trip. I have been checking the blog hoping to see beach pictures. I love the experiment. Nice job documenting the results.
You and Kim had me laughing again, when you were putting food on each others head ,so the birds could eat off of it.I'm going to try that with my sister.Did they poop on you?I would have never thought of that.Great idea!!!
